Altra sala, altro gioco. Dopo l'incendio di qualche anno fà ed il conseguente restauro alcuni soffitti furono fatti decorare da autori contemporanei:
"Bambini, poniamoci qui al centro della sala, e giriamo lo sguardo tutt'attorno e guardiamo i quadri alle pareti; a te quale piace di più? e perché? Cosa hai subito notato? Secondo te è giusto o sbagliato? Cosa gli cambieresti o aggiungeresti?...".
Ogni bambino viene coinvolto, ad ognuno viene data la possibilità di esprimere una sua opinione e, cosa più importante, gli fanno capire che il suo commento è comunque giusto, che non c'è una cosa brutta o bella ma che piace o non piace.
- "Adesso mi chiederete quale di questi è quello preferito da Maurits! Alzate lo sguardo al soffitto!"
-"Ohh! quanti colori!! Ma che cosa è???"
-"Questo, bambini è un quadro astratto! Che differenza c'è con tutti gli altri quadri alle pareti?"
-"E' sporcato con tanti colori!!!" Non si vede niente!"
-"Chi mi elenca almeno 4 colori? e chi mi dice qual'è il colore che si vede di più? guardate bene c'è anche una macchia piccolissima di un solo colore..."
Alla fine, la guida li silenzia tutti e chiede:
-"Che vuol dire astratto?"
Le risposte sono state diverse ma mi ha colpito un bambino che ha risposto:
-"Che se doveva essere un cavallo noi non lo vediamo!"
-"Allora, voi che dite di questo quadro che piace tanto a Maurits?"
E di nuovo un coro di voci con dei siiii e dei nooo ma tutti erano comunque felici ed erano stati incuriositi.
Now! We know that Maurits's favorite paintings are three, so let's go and see the second one.
Another room, another game!
-After the fire of a few years ago and the following restoration, some ceilings of the museum have been decorated by contemporary authors-.
-"Children, let's stand here in the center of the room and turn around to look at the paintings on the walls. Which one do you like best? And why? What did you immediately notice? In your opinion are the colors right or wrong? What would you change or would you add?... ".
Each child is involved, everyone is given the opportunity to express her or his own opinion and, even more important, they make him/her understand that his/her comment is in any case right, that there is no ugliness or beauty but only likes or dislikes.
-"Now, do you want to know which of these is Maurits's favorite one? Look up at the ceiling!"
-"Ohh! How many colors!! But what is it???"
-"This, children, is an abstract painting! What difference is there with all the other paintings on the walls?"
-"All these colors spoiled the ceiling!!! There is nothing to be seen"
-"Who lists me at least 4 colors? And who tells me what is the color you see most? Look carefully there is also a very small spot of one only color..."
In the end, the guide silences them all and asks:
-"What does the word abstract mean?"
There were many different answers but I was struck by a child who replied:
-"That when it is supposed to be a horse we don't see it!"
-"So, what do you say about this picture that Maurits likes so much?"
And again a chorus of voices with yesss and nooo and because....but everyone was still very happy and had been intrigued.
