Mia madre mise al mondo sei femmine (sapendo che suo cognato non aveva figli maschi, per mio padre, sperava di mettere al mondo un erede che potesse tramandare il nome e il titolo dei van den Brandeler) e finalmente nel 1965 nacque mio fratello Bastiaan, detto Bas, al quale sarebbe passato il titolo nobiliare al compimento del diciottesimo anno di età.
Per completare le informazioni relative alla discendenza fino a oggi, devo ricordare che Bas morì nel 2005 a quaranta anni, lasciando un figlio di sei mesi, Sebastian van den Brandeler, oggi undicenne, che vive in Inghilterra con sua sorella Hannah di diciassette anni e con la madre Collette Goldsmith.
Opi ed Omi ebbero anche una figlia, Ferdinanda Anna (zia Nan), nata il 20 novembre 1919, che sposò nel 1951 George D. Burnett (nato nel 1917) che divenne direttore della National Westminster Bank.
Nacquero due figli: David, oggi uno dei direttori della HSDS, banca mondiale e Daniel che sposò Jane, dalla quale ebbe tre figli, George, Charlotte (Lottie), Josephine (Tosie).
Con un pizzico di ironia, ma non solo, penso di poter dire che sono gli unici della famiglia ad essere 'normali', sebbene del concetto di normalità, credo si abusi un po’.

To complete the lineage information, I must say that Bas died in 2005 at the age of forty, leaving a six-month-old son, Sebastian van den Brandeler, now fifteen, who lives in England with an older sister Hannah and his mother Collette Goldsmith.
Opi and Omi also had a female, Ferdinanda Anna (aunt Nan),(1919), who married George D. Burnett (1917) in 1951 who became director of the National Westminster Bank.
They had two sons: David, and Daniel who married Jane, from whom three children were born: George, Charlotte (called Lottie), Josephine (called Tosie).
Tong in cheek, maybe not really, I can say that they are the only ones in the family who are 'normal', although I think that the concept of normality is abused a little.
