Entrammo nel piano bar sulle note di 'The shadow of your smile' e trascorsi pochi minuti Oriano chiese ai musicisti di suonare una canzone, che ballammo insieme, un brano che da quel momento diventò la colonna sonora della nostra vita: 'Strangers in the night':
“Qualcosa nei tuoi occhi era così invitante, qualcosa nel tuo sorriso era così intrigante, qualcosa nel mio cuore mi diceva che dovevo averti.Eravamo sconosciuti nella notte, entrambi soli, estranei l’uno all’altra quella notte, fino al momento del primo saluto ci conoscevamo così poco e fu amore in un’occhiata sfuggente, in una danza avvolgente e appassionata e... Da quella notte siamo sempre stati insieme, fu amore a prima vista, amore per sempre, è andata davvero molto bene a due che erano sconosciuti nella notte”.
Stavo bene con quel ragazzo, ma anche se Oriano mi regalava mille attenzioni, mi sentivo bloccata nelle parole e nei gesti.
Erano passati due anni dalla mia drammatica esperienza avuta con un uomo molto più grande di me, che mi aveva lasciato nell’anima cicatrici indelebili; e se stare con un uomo doveva voler dire quel dolore, per me era già stato abbastanza.
Due giorni dopo Oriano e i suoi commilitoni partirono per Buenos Aires, destinazione Perù, per poi fare scalo di nuovo in terra brasiliana, a Brasilia; ma prima della sua partenza mi chiese di raggiungerlo nella futura capitale del Brasile, e io gli promisi che avrei chiesto il permesso a mio padre, per poterlo
raggiungere. Ma vinta dalle mie paure di intraprendere una nuova storia, a mio padre non dissi nulla, e così non ci incontrammo.
